iPhone is the most massive line of smartphones in the world. In July 2016, Apple CEO Tim Cook reported on the sale of a billion iPhones all time. Almost exactly five years later, Apple has opened an account for its third billion smartphones sold: Asymco's analyst report released yesterday claims that Apple sold its two billionth smartphone.
It took the company 14 years to do this. And given that the latest iPhone 13 is at least as good as the popular iPhone 12, one might think that it will take Apple less than five years to conquer the third billion.
By far the most popular iPhones are the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, with nearly 220 million sold. In second place is the iPhone 11 - 150 million. iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were also hits - at one time they sold 120 million.
