The range of rugged smartphones has been expanded with an unusual model - Cat S22 Flip. The uniqueness of the device is that it is a full-fledged protected smartphone with Android, made at the same time in a clamshell form factor.
So far, this is a T-Mobile exclusive, but later the phone may well appear on the free sale. However, such exclusivity sometimes applies only to the US market.
However, the S22 Flip is water, dust, and low-altitude drop resistant as it boasts an IP68 rating and MIL-SPEC-810GH certification. However, the performance of the new product, on the contrary, is not capable of boasting. The heart is an old and very simple SoC Snapdragon 215 to help which there is 2 GB of RAM.
The configuration also includes 16 GB of flash memory, a 2.8-inch screen with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, cameras with a resolution of 2 and 5 megapixels, and a 2000 mAh battery. It's supposedly enough for 12 hours of talk time or 13 days of standby time. The phone is running Android 11 Go Edition. T-Mobile is priced at $ 235.
