The World Conference on Fifth Generation Networks was held in Beijing yesterday. Industry and Information Technology Minister Xiao Yaqing said that 993,000 5G base stations have already opened in China.
5G base stations cover more than 95% of counties and 35% of cities across the country, and the number of 5G-enabled mobile phones connected to terminals has exceeded 392 million.
In addition, Liu Yulin from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also said that the 5G device market continues to expand. From January to July of this year, domestic shipments of 5G-enabled mobile phones totaled 150 million units, and the value of related mobile phones fell below $ 160.
The head of China Radio and Television, Song Qizhu, also said at the conference that radio and television will help integrate and expand the capabilities of 5G and traditional cable TV.
