Fujifilm GFX50S: The most affordable digital medium format camera


Last week, Fujifilm announced that the GFX50S II will join the GFX range of mirrorless digital cameras at the end of September. The image sensor installed in it with a resolution of 51.4 megapixels and dimensions of 43.8 x 32.9 mm is about 1.7 times the size of a full-frame. In the description of the camera, the manufacturer highlights an effective image stabilization, fast autofocus and a small weight.

As a reminder, the original Fujifilm GFX50S unveiled the Fujifilm GFX system in 2017. Since then, the company has released several cameras and lenses for this system.

This stabilizer compensates for movement in five degrees of freedom, allowing you to gain up to 6.5 stops of exposure, expanding the possibilities of handheld shooting in low light or in conditions where a tripod cannot be used.

The X-Processor 4 image processor provides fast autofocusing speed. He also implemented 19 film simulation modes. The camera supports continuous shooting at 3 fps and Full HD video at 30 fps. Also worth mentioning is the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function, which allows you to shoot at a resolution of 200 megapixels.

The rear panel houses a 3.2 "LCD movable base, and the top panel houses a 1.8" auxiliary LCD. There is also an electronic viewfinder. Its resolution is 3.69 million points.

Dimensions of the camera are approximately equal to 150 x 104 x 87 mm, weight - 900 g. The camera body is made of high-strength magnesium alloy. The area adjacent to the lens mount is additionally reinforced. The camera is protected from atmospheric influences and is guaranteed to remain operational at temperatures down to –10 ° C. For removable media, there are two slots for SD, SDHC and SDXC cards with UHS-II support. The list of interfaces includes USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, and microphone and headphone jacks. The NP-W235 battery pack can take 440 pictures on a single charge.

The camera will go on sale in October for $ 4,000.

In Russia, sales should begin at the end of September at a recommended price of 339,999 rubles. The kit with the GF35-70mm lens is priced at 379,999 rubles.
