Gigabyte U4 presented: 14" laptop weighing less than 1 kg with a wide range of ports


A very light laptop has been added to the range of Gigabyte. With a 14-inch screen, the U4 weighs only 990 g. However, you have to pay for it. But first, about the main characteristics. The novelty has received the top-end Intel Core i7-1195G7 processor in its line. RAM can be from 8 GB or more than these 8 GB soldered on the motherboard, and additionally there is one DDR4 slot. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. This is an IPS panel without the increased frame rate.

The storage subsystem can include two M.2 SSDs. Despite the size and weight, the range of ports is quite wide. There is USB 3.2 (x2), USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, HDMI 2.0, a headphone jack and a microSD slot. Also worth noting is Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and MIL-STD-810G compliance. Dimensions are equal to 322 x 217 x 17.2 mm. 

As for the mass payment mentioned at the beginning, it is autonomy. Gigabyte itself says about 8 hours of operation, but the problem is that the battery here has a capacity of only 36 Wh, which is below average. But there is a quick charge: 30 minutes is enough to replenish the capacity by 45%. No price data yet.
