How much the top-end 12th generation Intel Core processors (Alder Lake) will cost

Intel will officially unveil 12th Gen Core processors this fall, and they'll go on sale this fall. The announcement event is expected to take place on October 27, but the source has already provided pricing data - Dutch retailers rushed to add the first six models, which will start the series, to their catalogs.

Alder Lake family will initially be represented by six top-end CPUs - 16-core Core i9-12900K and Core i9-12900KF, 12-core Core i7-12700K and Core i7-12700KF, as well as 10-core Core i5 -12600K and Core i5-12600KF. The cost of the Core i9-12900K ranges from € 653 to € 736 (an average of € 710), while the Core i9-12900KF is about € 30 more affordable. The average cost of the Core i7-12700K is 510 euros, the Core i7-12700KF is 475 euros. Finally, the average price of the Core i5-12600K and Core i5-12600KF is 360 and 325 euros, respectively. In general, these prices are in line with the predecessors of the Core 11 and Core 10 generations, although Alder Lake is much more progressive: these are the first Intel consumer CPUs with support for DDR5 memory and PCIe 5 bus, as well as with a division into large and small cores.

The characteristics of the above processors are as follows:

Core i9-12900K(F)

  • Kernels / Streams:  8C + 8c / 24
  • Kernel types: P-Core (Large)/E-Core (Small)
  • Boost Frequency at Load 1-2 cores, GHz: 5,3/3,9
  • Boot Frequency all cores, GHz: 5,0/3,7
  • TDP, W.: 125

Core i7-12700K(F)

  • Kernels / Streams:  8C+4c/20
  • Kernel types: P-Core (Large)/E-Core (Small)
  • Boost Frequency at Load 1-2 cores, GHz: 5,0/3,8
  • Boot Frequency all cores, GHz: 4,7/3,6
  • TDP, W.: 125

Core i5-12600K(F)

  • Kernels / Streams: 6C+4c/16
  • Kernel types: P-Core (Large)/E-Core (Small)
  • Boost Frequency at Load 1-2 cores, GHz: 4,9/3,6
  • TDP, W.:125
  • Boot Frequency all cores, GHz: 4,5/3,4
