Intel Alder Lake processors with support for DDR5, PCIe 5

The full premiere of Intel Alder Lake processors was expected this fall, and now we have specific dates. According to the source, the official Intel Innovation event will be held on October 27, within its framework, the entire Alder Lake platform will be presented - with all processors and chipsets, and the start of sales will take place three weeks later - on November 19.

However, at first, only top-end processors and motherboards based on the flagship Z690 chipset will go on sale - this is Intel's standard practice. More affordable Alder Lake CPUs of the Core i3 and Core i5 series are expected to go on sale in January 2022 along with motherboards based on Intel H670, B660, H610 chipsets.

The series is expected to kick off with six CPUs: Core i9-12900K, Core i9-12900KF, Core i7-12700K, Core i7-12700KF, Core i5-12600K, and Core i5-12600KF . Moreover , the approximate prices are already known , and the Core i9-12900K has already been tested for heating and power consumption.

Recall that a feature of Alder Lake is a completely new microarchitecture with large and small cores: the top model Core i9-12900K has 16 cores (8 large and 8 small) and supports the execution of 24 threads (only large cores execute two threads). The Core i7-12700K is a 12-core and 20-thread processor, while the Core i5-12600K is a 10-core and 16-thread processor. Other innovations: Alder Lake is represented by the new LGA1700 socket, support for DDR5 memory and PCIe 5 bus.
