iPhone 13 Pro gets more powerful GPU than iPhone 13

Apple yesterday unveiled the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and while the company says they share the same Apple A15 Bionic platform, the smartphones have received slight differences in performance. In fact, the GPU of the chip found in the iPhone 13 Pro models is more powerful than the regular iPhone 13 models.

Apple says the Apple A15 Bionic CPU has two high-performance cores and four cores for energy efficiency. The Apple A15 Bionic SoC in the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 has four cores, and Apple claims it delivers 30% better graphics performance than its competitors. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have an additional 5th core GPU for 50% better performance than the competition.

A more powerful GPU for Pro models may be due to the addition of support for the ProRes codec. Apple said at the event that the A15 Bionic includes new video encoders and decoders capable of capturing and editing video in ProRes, which not only take up a lot of internal memory (leading to a new 1TB model), but also require high GPU performance. ...

No process for making a chip is perfect, and as the process gets smaller, the challenges of making a perfect chip increase. When you work with nanometer-level precision, even the cleanest rooms will still have microscopic contamination. Therefore, companies often strive for a specific specification, then isolate those chips that do not meet the requirements and sell them as a version with lower specifications. - 9to5Mac

The iPhone 13 will be available for pre-order this Friday starting at $699 for the iPhone 13 mini. All smartphones received support for two eSIMs and a nano-SIM slot. The cost of replacing the rear glass on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 has been reduced from $ 99 to $ 29.
