MIUI Pure Mode Introduced

Xiaomi pays great attention to improving its proprietary shell: this year the manufacturer has released two updates, including MIUI 12.5 and MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. In addition, the company is also working on a host of other features, one of which is MIUI Pure Mode.

The Chinese tech giant is already testing the MIUI Pure Mode feature in China. It helps users to protect themselves from malicious applications. The company says that due to the open nature of Android, users can easily fall prey to attacks via malicious apps. The smartphone maker explains that 40% of the apps installed by MIUI users have never passed its information security audit. In addition, 10% of these applications are considered potentially dangerous.

When MIUI Pure Mode is enabled, users cannot install apps from external sources. In addition, MIUI Pure Mode blocks any installation taking place in the background without user consent.

Unlike Apple, Xiaomi allows users to disable this feature. Hence, they can install applications from other sources if they wish.

After testing, MIUI Pure Mode will appear in the stable build of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition.
