Nnew smartwatches Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic do not support Huawei and Honor smartphones with HarmonyOS

Samsung yesterday announced the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic smartwatches in China and confirmed that they do not support Huawei's new HarmonyOS.

After the global official announcement of smartwatches Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic, which run the Wear OS 3 operating system, developed jointly by Google and Samsung, it became known that they are not compatible with iOS. Now it became known that they also do not support Huawei and Honor smartphones running HarmonyOS.

This means that for now, the Galaxy Watch4 and Galaxy Watch4 Classic can only be used with devices that run the Android operating system. Minimum requirements set by Samsung: Android 6.0 or newer OS and more than 1.5 GB of RAM. In addition, the company said that device activation is only available after connecting to a smartphone that supports Google Mobile Services (GMS) and has Google Play Services and the Google Play app store installed.

But that's not all: many of the features of these wearables only work with Samsung smartphones running Android 10 or newer. Last but not least, some features are only available in certain regions.
