Nvidia is preparing a new version of the hit GeForce RTX 2060

The shortage of video cards in the market has led to the fact that manufacturers have begun to revive models that have long gone into retirement. However, the situation with the GeForce RTX 2060 is somewhat different: firstly, it was released relatively recently - in January 2019, and secondly, this model is still very popular with users. For example, on Steam, it is consistently among the top ten 3D maps. Therefore, it is not surprising that Nvidia decided to start a massive re-release of the GeForce RTX 2060. But not standard, but slightly improved.

As the well-known resource Videocardz writes with reference to its sources, the new version of the GeForce RTX 2060 will receive 12 GB of GDDR6 memory, that is, the volume will be twice the original. This will be its only difference from the initial version, which debuted in 2019. Nvidia has told partners to be ready to release the GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB by the end of this year, with an official announcement likely to take place in January 2022.

The full return to service of the GeForce RTX 2060 is clearly a reflection of Nvidia's vision of the market situation. Previously, the company predicted that there will be a shortage of video cards in 2022, but since the demand for Ampere cannot be satisfied, it is necessary to get out of the situation, offering users old new models.
