Experts from the analytical company Strategy Analytics summed up the results of the second quarter of 2021 in the market of radiofrequency processors or baseband processors, - the key microcircuits that ensure the operation of electronic devices in cellular networks. According to their calculations, the specified market grew by 16% in annual terms and reached 7.2 billion dollars. The top three market players are Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Samsung LSI.
Qualcomm has a 52% market share. In second place is MediaTek, which owns 30% of the market. It is followed by Samsung LSI with a 10% share. It is easy to calculate that the total share of all other suppliers is 8%. Analysts note that 5G models accounted for nearly two-thirds of all revenue in the second quarter.
