According to the source, Redmi plans to introduce two new budget smartphone models in India - Redmi 9 Activ and Redmi 9A Sport. Despite the new designations, there is nothing fundamentally new about them, since Activ is based on the regular Redmi 9 Prime, and Sport is a variant of Redmi 9.
Redmi 9 Activ will receive a new color, purple metallic, and two memory options - 4/64 GB and 6/128 GB. Everything else is the same as in Redmi 9 Prime, so we are waiting for SoC MediaTek Helio G35, a 6.53-inch screen with HD + resolution, dual 13-megapixel main camera, 5000 mAh battery.
Redmi 9A Sport will receive a metallic blue color and will be released in two memory configurations: 2/32 GB and 3/32 GB. Everything else is the same as in Redmi 9. That is, there will be a MediaTek Helio G25 SoC, a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, a 5000 mAh battery.
