Sony has scheduled a special event for September 9th where the company will talk about the future of the PlayStation 5. Most of the time (with 40 minutes for everything) Sony will talk about the games it plans to release for the fall / winter holiday season, including and PlayStation Studios games. It is also possible that the company will present the final version of the PS5 firmware, which is currently in beta. It includes some GUI improvements, including 3D audio for the TV's built-in speakers and a built-in M.2 storage slot.
Most likely, there is no talk of any hardware innovations. For example, a source doubts the company will introduce a new VR system. But Sony could well tell at its official level about the differences between the new and old versions of the PlayStation 5.
