The Chinese company Jingjia Micro announced that it is completing work on its own graphics processors of the JM9 family: at the moment the packaging is finalized, ahead of tests and the launch of mass production. Jingjia Micro originally hoped to start manufacturing JM9 GPUs late last year, but that didn't and probably won't happen this year even though JM9 development is coming to an end.
The series includes two GPUs. The entry-level model, the JM9231, is equivalent in performance to a GeForce GTX 1050. The clock speed is 1.5 GHz and the GDDR5 memory is 8 GB. The GPU supports PCIe 3.0 and video output via HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.3. The TDP of the JM9231 is 150 W, the declared performance is 2 TFLOPS.
The JM9271 is a more sophisticated GPU as it is designed to work with 16GB of HBM memory. This GPU is clocked at 1.8GHz, supports PCIe 4.0, and has a performance of 8 TFLOPS (the GeForce GTX 1080 has a slightly higher performance at 8.9 TFLOPS).
JM9 will definitely not revolutionize the market, but they can be used to work in scientific projects. JM9 GPUs for general users or gamers are limited in that they do not support the popular DirectX and Vulkan APIs.
