The iPhone 13 is thicker and heavier than the iPhone 12

Apple unveiled the iPhone 13 yesterday, and today is feature analysis day. Alas, the company does not advertise the capacity of the batteries installed in the new products, but it does indicate how much longer the iPhone 13 lasts relative to the iPhone 12.

The data is as follows:

  • iPhone 13 mini lasts 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 mini
  • iPhone 13 lasts 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12
  • iPhone 13 Pro lasts 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max lasts 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro Max

If you remember that the iPhone 12 Pro Max was characterized by the longest-playing Apple smartphone ever, now that "honorary title" has passed to the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Obviously, the company nevertheless slightly increased the capacity of the batteries, since due to only the 5-nanometer SoC Apple A15 Bionic, such a result was unlikely to be obtained. The same is indicated by the increase in the thickness of the case: it increased from 7.4 mm in the iPhone 12 to 7.65 mm in the iPhone 13. Finally, the new items got heavier. Here the difference between iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 is as follows:

  • iPhone 13 mini - 141 grams, iPhone 12 mini - 135 grams
  • iPhone 13 - 174 grams, iPhone 12 - 164 grams
  • iPhone 13 Pro - 204 grams, iPhone 12 Pro - 189 grams
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max - 240 grams, iPhone 12 Pro Max - 228 grams
