Worldwide semiconductor sales up 29.0% year-on-year


The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) announced that global semiconductor product sales in July 2021 were $ 45.4 billion, up 29.0% from July 2020, when they were $ 35.2 billion, and by 2.1% more than in June 2021, when they were equal to $ 44.5 billion. The indicator, which is a three-month moving average, is determined by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS).

"Global semiconductor sales remained strong in July with strong demand in all major regional markets and semiconductor product categories," said John Neuffer, President and CEO of SIA. "Chip manufacturing and shipments have hit record levels in recent months as the industry works to meet sustained high demand."

On an annualized basis, sales in Europe increased by 38.0%, in Asia Pacific and other regions excluding the following - by 30.9%, in China - by 28.9%, in the Americas - by 26. 8%, in Japan - by 20.9%.
