Apple A15 Bionic is able to compete with Snapdragon 888

The performance of the Apple A15 Bionic platform is so high that even with multiple cores disabled, it can compete with the best solutions on the market. The iPhone 13 Pro scores over 1,700 and 4,600 points in Geekbench 5 in single-threaded and multi-threaded modes, respectively. These are record numbers, far exceeding the capabilities of the flagship SoCs Qualcomm and Samsung. But it turned out that even when the low power mode is activated on the new iPhone, the results are still very high: 727 and 3497 points, respectively!

This compares to the results of the Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 at least in the multi-threaded test. At the same time, in this mode, the iPhone 13 Pro turns off one cluster of cores, that is, either two high-performance cores or four energy-efficient cores remain in operation. Moreover, the result is more similar to the second option.

This is confirmed by the recent results of the large-scale test A15 Bionic, where, among other things, the high performance of the energy-efficient cores of the platform was demonstrated.
