Budget flagship Redmi K40s may be canceled due to lack of components

Typically, Redmi usually releases an updated version of its economy flagship in the second half of the year. The company was expected to release the Redmi K40s this fall. However, today the product manager of the Redmi brand said that due to the lack of core components, the Redmi K40s was not easy to manufacture. The source added that the new model could hit the market later than planned. In addition, Redmi could cancel the smartphone altogether.

According to previous news, the younger version of Redmi K40s will use a Dimensity 1200 single-chip system, while the older version will have the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. The series will support 120W fast charging. Thus, Redmi K40s can become one of the cheapest models with support for fast charging with a capacity of over 100W.

The Redmi K40s should be equipped with a 50MP main camera as well as a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 2400 x 1080 pixels with a 120Hz refresh rate.
