iPhone SE 3 - Rumor: Allegedly upgraded with A15 bionic chip and 5G

According to a new rumor, the upcoming iPhone SE 3 will be technically upgraded with Apple's A15 Bionic chip and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 modem. The display and form factor should remain unchanged.

Apple supposedly wants to start production of the iPhone SE 3 in December 2021 so that the market launch can take place in spring 2022. This emerges from a new report in the Japanese magazine Macotakara. The schedule within the year would therefore match the schedule of the predecessor.

iPhone SE 3: entry-level model supposedly also compatible with 5G

The report refers to the supply chain, which says that Apple's iPhone SE 3 will be technically upgraded in two components. The third generation of the iPhone SE is to receive both Apple's A15 Bionic chip and the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 modem. This means that the inexpensive entry-level model would also be compatible with 5G. The size and shape of the display should remain unchanged - the well-known iPhone 8 case in combination with a 4.7-inch LCD screen should continue to be used. The home button, which has a fingerprint scanner integrated with Touch ID, should remain the same.

In 2020, Apple relaunched the iPhone SE and has been selling it for around 480 euros since the market launch. There used to be speculation whether Apple could bring another model of the iPhone SE onto the market, which - similar to the iPhone 8 Plus - could come with a 5.5-inch display. So far, however, there has not been any concrete confirmation of this.
