Jio Phone Next: Google reveals characteristics of the cheapest smartphone in the world

The Jio Phone Next smartphone was presented back in June this year by the Indian company Reliance Jio, which created it together with Google. At that time, it was announced that the smartphone would be released on September 10, but later it was announced that the launch was postponed to November 4. Now the new product has appeared in the Google Play Console database with some key characteristics.

The Jio Phone Next display supports 720 x 1440 pixel resolution. The device is equipped with a Snapdragon 215 mobile platform and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone runs on the Android 11 Go operating system.

It was previously reported that the JioPhone Next has a 5.5-inch display, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a 13-megapixel main camera. The 2GB RAM version will get 16GB of flash, while the 3GB RAM model will offer 32GB of flash. The phone must have a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 2500 mAh.

Jio and Google have partnered to create unique smartphone features. The device will offer screen translation, automatic reading aloud, India-focused camera filters, and Google Assistant, Google Duo and Camera Go pre-installed apps.

At the time of the announcement, Jio Phone Next was called "the cheapest smartphone in India and around the world." JioPhone Next will be available in two flavors: Basic and Advanced. These versions are reported to be priced at $ 66 and $ 93, respectively.
