New Huawei P50 arrives without the promised HarmonyOS 2.1

On September 29, 2021, Huawei began the first sales of the standard Huawei P50, which is a simplified version of the flagship Huawei P50 Pro. It was reported that the Huawei P50 will ship with HarmonyOS 2.1, however, this did not happen.

According to Huawei Central, the Huawei P50 smartphone runs HarmonyOS 2.0.1 version 155 (C00E150R3P6) out of the box. This phone has received a number of new features out of the box, including the Super Device function, a new control panel, widgets, animation effects.

Back in August, the Huawei P50 was certified by the Chinese regulator TENAA, which confirmed that the tested smartphone ran on the pre-installed HarmonyOS 2.1. However, it is now clear that an upgrade to HarmonyOS 2.1 is not yet available for this smartphone.

The Huawei P50 version, equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage, is offered in China for about $ 700.
