Nreal Air is very light and does not show its capabilities

The Chinese company Nreal has released new augmented reality glasses. The model is called Air, weighs only 77 grams, and looks like regular sunglasses.

What's interesting is the positioning. While many companies are trying to create universal smart glasses, Nreal Air has a much more specific purpose - to watch YouTube. At the same time, it will be possible to use other video services.

There is no camera - the glasses do not see what is happening around the user - accordingly, there are no elements of augmented reality, as if projected onto real objects.

Instead, the glasses got a kind of display with a viewing angle of 46 degrees, which, according to the manufacturer, can be compared to a 201-inch screen placed at a distance of 6 meters from the user. How exactly the screen is implemented is not yet clear, since the manufacturer did not disclose this detail. But it is known that we are talking about a 90-hertz OLED panel with a density of 49 pixels per degree.

The glasses work with both Android and iOS. They will enter the market in December this year, but initially only in Japan, China and South Korea. Globally, the device will become available next year. The price was not disclosed, but it will be lower than the Nreal Light model, which started at $ 590.
