The assignment of the mysterious transmitter in the new Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch appears to have been confirmed. It turned out that the novelty is deprived of the diagnostic port, which is familiar for many generations, located in the strap slot.
Thus, Apple can no longer configure its watch using this port. Apparently, the same transmitter, operating at a frequency of 60.5 GHz, serves as a replacement for the usual port. Moreover, the data transfer rate over such a channel should be up to 480 MB / s, which is quite enough for diagnostics and software updates if necessary.
But a special docking station is required, which, apparently, will be in all Apple service centers.
