SK Hynix, one of the largest manufacturers of memory chips, has published a report for the third quarter of 2021. SK Hynix's revenue for the reporting period was $ 10.11 billion. This is 14% more than in the second quarter and 45% more in annual terms, that is, compared to the third quarter of 2020.
Operating income for the quarter was $ 3.57 billion and net income was $ 2.84 billion. These indicators compared to the second quarter increased by 55% and 67%, respectively. In annual terms, operating profit increased by 220%, net - by 206%. Gross profit in the third quarter was 35%. For comparison: the quarter before that it was 26%, the year before - 16%.
SK hynix predicts that the market demand for semiconductor memory will continue to grow. The manufacturer plans to "flexibly respond to changes in the market environment and focus on ensuring profitability." At the same time, the company hopes to improve the competitiveness of its NAND flash business, which has recently become profitable, completing its acquisition of Intel by the end of this year.
