A well-known insider shared fresh data on the characteristics of two top-end SoCs of the new generation: Snapdragon 898 and Dimensity 2000. Of course, the names are conjectural.
According to the source, the new top-end Qualcomm platform will be manufactured using the 4 nm process technology at Samsung facilities. The Snapdragon 898 will receive one Cortex-X2 core at 3 GHz, three large cores at 2.5 GHz, and four energy-efficient cores at 1.79 GHz. The GPU will be Adreno 730.
Dimensity 2000 looks a little more interesting on paper. With the same process technology and the same configuration, the frequency of three large cores will be 2.85 GHz, and four small ones will be 1.8 GHz. The Cortex-X2 core will run at the same 3 GHz. The GPU will be the Mali-G710 MC10. That is, technically, both SoCs will be very similar. How the situation with performance and heating manifests itself in practice, tests will show.
