The first photo of the MacBook Pro screen with a "bang"

The day before yesterday, alarming rumors appeared on the network that Apple may add a cutout to the screen of the new MacBook Pro, like the branded "bangs" on the iPhone. Now, these messages threaten to be confirmed by the harsh reality - the first photo of such a MacBook Pro has appeared.

A photo of the MacBook Pro screen with a cutout was published by the user AnyTurtle999 of the Chinese social network Weibo.

In the photo, the network informant DuanRui drew attention, which has already managed to prove itself well for the iPhone 13 leaks, including the prediction of reduced "bangs" and photo layouts with a characteristic "diagonal" main camera. DuanRui also confirmed that despite the notch in the screen, the laptop will still use the Touch ID fingerprint scanner rather than Face ID.

As noted by the authoritative thematic resource MacRumors, it is not yet clear whether the photo is genuine, there are grounds for some skepticism. However, if the photo turns out to be real, we can assume that the next MacBook Pro models will receive very thin bezels around the display.

Interestingly, not everyone accepts the idea of "bangs" with hostility. In the comments, there are, for example, such responses: "If the choice is between a cutout and a wider screen bezel, then I choose a cutout."

As reported yesterday, instead of the iPhone's Face ID TrueDepth camera, the MacBook Pro notch will house a 1080p webcam, True Tone light sensor, and microphone. A similar cut is predicted for the updated 2022 MacBook Air. The MacBook Pro's notch is similar in size to the iPhone 12's bangs, while the iPhone 13's is smaller.
