The lack of components led to a decrease in the smartphone market in the last quarter by 6%

Experts of the analytical company Canalys summed up the results of the third quarter of 2021 in the global smartphone market. The released report said that shipments in annual terms decreased by 6%. The reason for this is the lack of components that the industry is facing.

Samsung remains the leader of the global smartphone market. Its share at the end of the quarter is 23%. Exactly the same part of the market belonged to the South Korean giant a year ago.

In second place is Apple. It managed to increase its share from 12% to 15% over the year. Next comes Xiaomi. Its share, as in the third quarter of 2020, is 14%. Vivo and OPPO, which held 9% of the market a year ago, were able to increase their shares to 10%.
