Top Mobile Ryzen 7000H Processors May Be 16-Core

Intel will soon bring Alder Lake processors to the market, which are much better than the company's solutions currently available. How will AMD respond?

Here we will mainly touch on mobile processors.

AMD will release an APU based on the Zen 4 architecture next year. This should happen towards the end of the year, but there are no details yet.

Nearly all of the early data points to Raphael APUs in the desktop segment, while Phoenix will play in the mobile segment. However, it may be a little different. The source claims that the Raphael line will also appear in the mobile segment in the form of high-performance Raphael-H CPUs. Moreover, such APUs may contain up to 16 cores! In the next generation, AMD does not yet plan to divide into large and small cores, so, apparently, we are talking about 16 full-fledged cores with the Zen 4 architecture. How AMD will fit all this into a power limit suitable for mobile APUs is not yet clear, but let's not forget. that the technological process of new products will also change.

As a result, both Raphael-H and Phoenix-H will be simultaneously presented in the mobile segment, just the former will be much more productive. It is quite possible that these will be just desktop processors adapted for mobile needs, while the Phoenix line will initially be mobile with a monolithic crystal. However, so far these are only assumptions. At the same time, all new processors should receive a GPU based on the RDNA 2 architecture, support for DDR5 and PCIe 5.0.

In fact, the idea of a 16-core mobile processor is not new - at least one such leak appeared a year and a half ago.
