Jon Peddie Research: PC graphics market shrinks 18.2% qoq


Experts of the analytical company Jon Peddie Research (JPR) have once again summed up the results of the quarter in the market of graphic solutions for the PC. According to the calculations, in the third quarter of 2021, 101 million GPUs were shipped. This is 18.2% less than in the second quarter. The report includes both discrete and embedded solutions.

Intel remains the largest market player, but it has cut supplies by 25.6%. AMD reduced shipments by 11.4%, while Nvidia was able to increase shipments by 8.0%. At the end of the quarter, Intel holds 62% of the market, AMD - 18%, Nvidia - 20%.

Analysts note that CPU shipments for the quarter were down 23.1%.

Compared to the third quarter of last year, CPU shipments were up 9.2% and GPU shipments were up 12%.
