Mojave Audio MA-37 is a replica of a vintage Sony C-37a tube microphone

Mojave Audio launches the MA-37 tube condenser microphone. The company says its take on the classic Sony C-37a is updating the original design with modern components for rich and natural sounds.

In the updated model, the manufacturer seeks not only to recreate the sound of the original, released in the 1950s but also to improve it. The C-37a is often associated with the “golden age” of Hollywood recording. The novelty is a large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone, offering a special capsule design with an adjustable acoustic chamber that allows the selection of cardioid and omnidirectional polar patterns via a mechanical switch. The sound circuit is based on a single-stage tube amplifier with an EF806 tube and a Lundahl transformer. A switch on the external power supply allows you to select one of three built-in high pass filter options including M flat, 100 Hz, and 200 Hz.
