Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group China and general manager of the Redmi brand, posted on his blog that the company's new smartphone will be built on the Dimensity 9000 mobile platform.
He asked fans what they expect from a Redmi smartphone based on the Dimensity 9000 SoC. Many users said they hope to keep the starting price of 1999 yuan, or about $ 310.
Lu Weibing noted that users are very close in their desires to reality, and also added that competitors based on Dimensity 9000 will cost more than 3000 and even 4000 yuan, that is, more than 470 and 625 dollars, respectively.
According to reports, the Dimensity 9000 will receive one 3.0 GHz Arm Cortex-X2 core, three 2.85 GHz Arm Cortex-A710 cores, and four Arm Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The GPU is the Mali-G710 MC10.
