Black Shark Technology announced today that the Black Shark 5 series of mobile phones will be launched soon, equipped with the new Snapdragon 8 mobile platform.
It was previously reported that the Black Shark 5 series mobile phones come standard with an upgraded 4600mAh dual-cell battery, support 100W flash charging, and are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and a stronger ultra-high screen. The system is still based on Android 12's bottom layer magic changes MIUI's JOYUI.
In addition, sources said that Tencent is preparing to acquire Black Shark Technology, a subsidiary of Xiaomi Group, for 2.7 billion yuan, which is still under negotiation. After the transaction is completed, Black Shark's future business focus will shift from gaming mobile phones to VR devices as a whole -- content will be provided by Tencent, and Black Shark will provide VR hardware access.
However, digital blogger @Digital Chat Station said that despite such rumors, the Black Shark 5 series gaming phones are still in normal iteration. The two new phones are codenamed Katyusha and Patriot, of which the model is KTUS-A0. The model has been filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
