Canalys: China's cloud spending reached $27.4 billion in 2021


Canalys released a report saying that in 2021, mainland China has strong momentum, and the cloud infrastructure services market will grow by 45%, reaching a total of 27.4 billion US dollars. Among them, the fourth quarter of 2021 increased by 33% year-on-year to $7.7 billion.

Canalys predicts that by 2026, the cloud infrastructure market in mainland China will reach 85 billion US dollars, with a five-year compound annual growth rate of 25%.

The report pointed out that Alibaba Cloud will remain the cloud market giant in 2021, with Huawei Cloud and Tencent Cloud ranking second and third respectively. Baidu Smart Cloud occupies fourth place. In 2021, the top four cloud vendors will occupy 80% of the market share. Specifically:

  • Alibaba Cloud leads the market with 37% of total spending in the cloud infrastructure services market.
  • HUAWEI CLOUD's market share reached 18%, with an annual growth rate of 67%.
  • The third-largest vendor, Tencent Cloud, accounted for 16% of the market, an increase of 55%.
  • The fourth-largest vendor, Baidu Smart Cloud, with a market share of 9%, also increased by 55%.
