Samsung Releases Mobile Solid State Drive T7 Shield

Samsung's new mobile solid-state drive T7 Shield is only about the size of a credit card, with a drop-proof, waterproof and dust-proof design. Samsung said that the T7 Shield mobile solid-state drive, which is only about the size of a credit card, is durable and has excellent performance and reliability. The T7 Shield is the latest addition to Samsung's T7 mobile SSD family, which also includes the T7 and T7 Touch.

The Samsung T7 Shield can resist drops of up to 3 meters while passing the IP65 level of dust and water certification. Despite its new durable design, the T7 Shield is still compact and lightweight, weighing only about 98 grams.

The T7 Shield has a read speed of 1050MB/s and a write speed of 1000MB/s, which is Samsung's current highest transfer speed based on the USB 3.2 Gen2 standard. This speed is about 2 times that of its Samsung T5 and 9.5 times faster than the Samsung external mechanical hard drive HX-MTD10EA.

Samsung has also optimized the product inside and out, by changing the surface material and improving the T7 Shield's software to avoid the performance degradation and overheating issues that can occur when transferring large files. Thanks to this improvement, performance remains stable even when transferring files of 2TB at a time.

The T7 Shield is available in Moon White, Night Black, and Magic Blue to meet the different preferences of users. It provides 1TB and 2TB storage specifications and will be available in May.
