ASUS Unveils ExpertBook B9/B7 2022 Laptops

ASUS has now launched the 2022 Expert series, including ExpertBook laptops, ExpertCenter desktops, mini computers, workstations and all-in-one computers.

Here's a look at the new laptops. Asus claims that the ExpertBook B9 is Asus' lightest 14-inch business laptop ever. Both models have passed the MIL-STD 819 US military standard, providing TPM 2.0 security modules, webcam physical shutters, fingerprint recognition, and more.

ASUS ExpertBook B9

The ExpertBook B9 is the company's lightest 14-inch business laptop with a magnesium alloy chassis, a 33Wh battery, and weighs 1.9 pounds; the 66Wh version weighs 2.2 pounds (998.8 grams) and measures 12.6 x 7.9 x 0.58 inches.

The ExpertBook B9 is powered by an Intel Core i7-1265U CPU, Intel Iris Xe graphics and 32GB of RAM, with optional 4TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage.

The machine uses a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 400 nits of brightness, and a screen-to-body ratio of 94%.

In terms of interfaces, the machine provides one USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, two Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a Kensington lock slot.

In addition, the machine is equipped with an Intel network card, supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as a 720p infrared camera (with a protective cover) and a fingerprint sensor.

In other respects, the machine also has Asus-exclusive NumberPad, call AI noise reduction technology, and Harman / Kardon certified speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning.

ExpertBook B7 Flip

As the name suggests, this model can be flipped and deformed, that is, a three-in-one product in the form of a tablet computer, a traditional clamshell laptop, and a vertical form (as shown in the figure below), which supports 360-degree rotation.

The ASUS ExpertBook B7 Flip supports 5G (optional), and the 2-in-1 model also comes with Intel LAN (Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2).

The ExpertBook B7 Flip is equipped with an Intel Core i7-1195G7 CPU, Intel Iris Xe graphics card, optional 64GB of RAM and 2TB of SSD storage. The screen is available in two versions:

  • 14" QHD+ panel (2560 x 1600) with 16:10 aspect ratio, 400 nits brightness
  • 14" FHD+ panel (1920 x 1200) with 16:10 aspect ratio, 500 nits brightness

In addition, this model is a touch screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 81%, and ASUS recommends using it with its own MPP 2.0 ASUS Pen stylus (sold separately).

Other aspects are basically the same as the ExpertBook B9, providing t two Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.0b, one micro HDMI (LAN only), one mini DisplayPort, one smart card reader, one SIM card slot and a Kensington lock slot.

The ExpertBook B7 Flip isn't as thin and light as the B9, but it also weighs 3 pounds (about 1362 grams) and is between 0.70 and 0.74 inches thick.

Elsewhere, Asus claims the ExpertBook B9 and ExpertBook B7 Flip have 16 hours and 11 hours of battery life, respectively. Both start at $1,399 (about 9,317.34 yuan) and are expected to hit shelves in the third quarter of 2022.
