Ming-Chi Kuo: Apple AirPods Pro 2 will be mass-produced in Vietnam in the second half of this year

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo just tweeted that Apple AirPods Pro 2 will be mass-produced in Vietnam in the second half of this year, which is a successful case of Apple's main products being mass-produced outside of China.

Kuo also said that the shift in AirPods Pro 2 production can be attributed to a relatively uncomplicated supply chain and that Vietnam has a better production environment (such as infrastructure and labor) compared to most countries outside China, and in the short term It is very challenging to replicate the success of the AirPods Pro 2 to other products or countries.

Ming-Chi Kuo also said that the NPI (new product introduction) of AirPods Pro 2 is still in China, which means that it is not easy to establish a complete non-Chinese production base . For Chinese companies Luxshare and Goertek, the assemblers of the AirPods series, setting up factories in Vietnam instead of India could also reduce potential geopolitical risks.

Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that the AirPods Pro 2's charging case will still use the Lightning port instead of USB-C .

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman earlier this month, Apple plans to release the second-generation AirPods Pro this fall , which is rumored to feature a new design, improved audio quality, and integrate some health features.
