Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra flagship phone supports 120W fast charging

Xiaomi and Leica officially cooperated, and the first smartphone will be released in July. There are reports that the first device will be the upcoming Mi 12 Ultra.

Weibo blogger @Digital Chat Station exposed the fast charging capability of the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra. The information shows that the smartphone will be equipped with a 4860 mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging as well as 50W wireless fast charging. This configuration appears to be the highest charging spec of any phone to date. Other new phones include 4300mAh, 5000mAh, and 5160mAh battery versions.

Considering the battery capacity and charging power, this device is likely to use the Surging P1 chip. The Surging P1 is basically the strongest self-developed chip Xiaomi has ever developed. It has also achieved a huge technological breakthrough in the fast charging industry and solved several major contradictions of fast charging. With the help of the Surging P1 chip, 100W fast charging can be achieved through a single-cell solution.

After the release of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, the release of the Mi 12 Ultra is ready. At the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 conference, Xiaomi President Wang Xiang also came to the scene. He announced that Xiaomi would be the first to release the new chip. Now it is reported that the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra will start mass production in early June. The smartphone will be available in July.

It is worth mentioning that in addition to being the first to be equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra may also be equipped with two self-developed small chips. One of the chips is used for charging and the other is used for imaging. In addition to Surging P1, Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra will also be equipped with Surging C2 chip. The former is used for charging and the latter is used for imaging.
