AMD Threadripper PRO 5000WX starts retailing in China

Today, Twitter netizen "AnhPhuH" said that AMD Threadripper PRO 5000WX began to retail in China, and released the packaging diagram of this series of products.

"AnhPhuH" also released prices for three models:

  • 64 core 5995WX: 47000 yuan
  • 32-core 5975WX: 24,000 yuan
  • 24-core 5965WX: 17200 yuan

There are indeed merchants on Taobao who have listed AMD Threadripper PRO 5000WX series processors, and the 64-core 5995WX is priced at 46,500 yuan.

AMD announced that the Threadripper PRO 5000 WX series processors will be available at global system integrators starting in July 2022, and are expected to be available to the DIY community later this year.

Now that AMD has unified the Threadripper and Threadripper PRO product lines for enthusiasts and content creators, there will be only the Threadripper PRO platform in the future. This also means that all Threadripper processors will natively deliver: 128 PCIe Gen 4 lanes, 8 lanes of UDIMM and RDIMM memory, massive L3 cache, and the security and manageability features common to Ryzen PRO processors.

AMD claims that in addition to the PRO feature set, Threadripper processors will also offer exciting features for enthusiasts, and WRX80 motherboards at ODM partners will support memory and CPU overclocking.

The AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000WX processor is designed for the WRX80 chipset and sWRX8 CPU socket, and customers with WRX80 chipset motherboards will be able to directly support the Threadripper PRO 5000 WX series processors after a BIOS update.
