Apple’s iOS 16 update released today includes a series of detailed improvements, one of which is a small improvement that finally supports viewing the password of the currently connected WiFi network.
Viewing WiFi passwords is not uncommon in Android phones, and Apple did not launch this feature until iOS 15, which is a hindrance for users who forget WiFi passwords or share WiFi passwords with others.
According to MacRumors, after upgrading to iOS 16, a new "Password" option will appear when you open the WiFi section of Settings and tap a connected network. After authenticating with Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode , tapping will reveal the password for that WiFi network. Users can also click to copy the password and share it with others.
Apple has provided developers with the iOS 16 developer preview beta update, and iOS 16 is pushed to the iPhone 8 and later models as a free software update.
