Apple M2 MacBook Air/Pro 2022 official only supports a single external monitor

Apple today released new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models with new M2 chips. The technical specifications on Apple’s website confirm that these two laptops officially only support a single external display, up to 6K/60Hz.

According to Apple, previous-generation MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro models with the M1 chip also only supported a single external monitor, but found it possible to connect multiple monitors to these laptops using a DisplayLink adapter, and this may still be the new M2 Workaround for Mac.

Higher-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models support up to two external displays with the M1 Pro chip and up to four external displays with the M1 Max chip.
