FDA approves new features of Apple Watch, watchOS 9 is expected to be announced

Ahead of the 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple has received the latest FDA clearance for a new atrial fibrillation monitoring feature, according to a 510 (k) filing discovered by MyHealthyApple, June 6, 2022. It might be used in a new system for the Apple Watch.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported in April that Apple plans to improve the atrial fibrillation detection feature in the Apple Watch's existing ECG app, which can measure how long a person is in atrial fibrillation over a period of time, as well as It's called "burden".

Gurman said the feature could debut as part of watchOS 9, which is expected to be announced today at the opening of Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2022).
