Apple launched a traditional back-to-school season promotion in the United States and Canada last month. This year, students and educators can receive up to $150 in free gift cards with the purchase of eligible Mac and iPad models. It now appears that Apple is also preparing to launch the event in Europe.
Portuguese website iFeed.pt has learned from people familiar with the matter that Apple’s 2022 back-to-school campaign will kick off in Europe next week. Similar to offers already available in the US and Canada, student shoppers will receive up to €150 in free gift cards with the purchase of a new Mac or iPad.
In countries where the campaign is already running, Apple is offering a free $150 gift card to anyone who buys a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or iMac. For the iPad, Apple is giving away a free $100 gift card to anyone who buys a new iPad Air or iPad Pro.
Apple Gift Cards can be used for purchases, subscriptions in the Apple Store, App Store, and iTunes Store, and Apple Books. Last year, Apple's back-to-school campaign gave customers free AirPods headphones. Now with gift cards, customers can choose how they want to spend.
The campaign also launched in some Asian countries like India and Thailand, and Apple is still offering AirPods 2 earphones for free in those countries. Probably because Apple's online store in these regions doesn't support Apple Gift Cards.
Apple's back-to-school campaign is part of the company's education program, which offers students, educators and other members of schools and universities discounts on new Macs and iPads. Notably, students can also get AppleCare+ subscriptions on eligible products at a 20% discount.
