Canalys: Global PC shipments drop 15% in Q2 2022

Canalys released the latest research report, saying that in the second quarter of 2022, due to China's lockdown measures against the new crown epidemic, production was interrupted, which had a significant impact on the PC market . And notebook PC shipments totaled 70.2 million units, an average annual decrease of 15.0% , the lowest sales since the first epidemic lockdown in the first quarter of 2020.

According to Canalys data, in the second quarter of 2022, notebook computer shipments fell by 18.6% to 54.5 million units, and desktop computer shipments increased slightly by 0.6% to 15.6 million units .

Lenovo ranked first in the global PC market, with shipments of 17.5 million units in the second quarter of 2022, a decrease of 12% ; HP ranked second, with total shipments of 13.5 million units, a decrease of 28%; Dell followed HP Third, shipments were 13.2 million units, down 5%; Acer and Asus ranked fourth and fifth, down 19% and 5%, respectively.

Gartner also released a research report a few days ago, saying that global PC shipments in the second quarter of 2022 totaled 72 million units, down 12.6% from the second quarter of 2021.
