DSCC: The OLED market is expected to grow 2% year-on-year in 2022

DSCC released a report saying that the OLED market revenue is expected to increase by 2% year-on-year in 2022, reaching a scale of 42 billion US dollars (about 282.24 billion yuan), mainly due to game display, IT applications, and emerging applications such as in-vehicle display and AR/VR.

DSCC expects OLED smartphone applications to decline by 4% year-on-year in 2022 due to macroeconomic headwinds, weakening consumer demand, and concerns over inventory.

According to the report, the latest information shows that all major smartphone brands have lowered their original OLED panel purchase targets, including demand forecasts for 2023. In an environment of limited demand and oversupply, panel makers have entered an anxious price competition in order to obtain sufficient orders.

DSCC previously expected that the revenue of AMOLED materials for all applications will grow from $1.07 billion (about 7.169 billion yuan) in 2020 to 2.9 billion in 2026 at an annual growth rate of 18%. US dollar (about 19.43 billion yuan) scale.
