Russia's largest retailer M.Video starts selling second-hand smartphones

Russia's largest consumer electronics retailer M.Video-Eldorado (MVID.MM) said on Thursday that it has started selling discounted and second-hand products as Western brands suspend shipments Smartphones , offering Russian consumers a cheaper alternative.

Apple suspended all product sales in Russia in early March, so the availability of new iPhones, iPads and other products in Russia began to decline. M.Video said the discounted and used smartphones expanded its range of available devices and offered "relatively new" Apple products .

Given the limited supply in the Russian market, M.Video said discounted, fully-featured used electronics have the potential to offer effective alternatives to consumers looking for flagship devices.

M.Video follows in the footsteps of Russian mobile operator MTS, which has launched similar second-hand products in May. MTS offers smartphones from Chinese brands Huawei, Honor and Xiaomi, as well as South Korean brand Samsung, at 50% lower prices than new products. MTS said the brands and sales locations offered will expand.
