TrendForce released a report saying that as more and more car companies begin to introduce SiC (silicon carbide) technology in electric drive systems, it is expected that the market of SiC power components for vehicles will grow in 2022. The scale will reach 1.07 billion US dollars (about 7.19 billion yuan), and will climb to 3.94 billion US dollars (about 26.477 billion yuan) by 2026.
The report pointed out that the current automotive SiC power component market is mainly controlled by European and American IDM manufacturers. This field has been deeply cultivated for a long time, and it has close interaction with major car companies and Tier 1 manufacturers.
TrendForce said that major auto companies have high hopes for SiC and actively participate in supply chain construction. From the perspective of China, which has the world's largest electric vehicle market, auto companies such as SAIC and GAC have begun to deploy the entire SiC industry chain , which has created great development opportunities for local suppliers.
According to reports, at the same time, car companies such as BYD and Hyundai have launched chip self-research programs one after another, injecting new vitality into the market.
