Micron disclosed that its DRAM manufacturing plant in Hiroshima, Japan suffered a sudden power outage on July 8, 2022, and is currently evaluating the impact on near-term supply.
According to the latest research report by TrendForce TrendForce, Micron's estimated production capacity affected by the sudden power outage is limited.
TrendForce pointed out that in terms of global production capacity, the factory's film production accounted for about 7%. The main production process is 1Z nm, which accounts for more than 50% of the film, followed by 1Y nm, which accounts for nearly 35%. Since the machine starts the uninterruptible power supply system at the same time when the power outage occurs, but due to the influence of the voltage drop, the machine needs to be restarted and checked, and the power outage time is about 5~10 minutes, so the affected production capacity is limited.
