According to the agreement, CATL and Yutong will use their respective advantages to improve the level of linkage between supply and demand and create an efficient and synergistic competitive advantage. The two parties will share advantageous resources in the fields of commercial vehicles such as passenger cars, heavy trucks, light trucks, construction machinery, and sanitation vehicles, and jointly promote the innovative development and application of new materials, new systems, and new technologies, jointly formulate technical standards for commercial vehicle batteries and continue to lead commercial vehicles. Technology development in the automotive field. At the same time, the two parties will also focus on overseas markets, go abroad together, and realize the strategic goal of "going overseas with vehicles and electric vehicles ".

Since 2012, CATL and Yutong have carried out in-depth strategic cooperation for ten years. So far, CATL has supplied 19GWh of power batteries to Yutong, powering nearly 150,000 new energy buses, accounting for 93% of the total, helping them to be exported to more than 40 countries and regions including Qatar, France, the United Kingdom, and Spain.

In addition, CATL also provides clean power for commercial vehicles such as Yutong sanitation trucks, mixer trucks, tractors, and dump trucks.

According to the data released by the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance, among the top 15 companies in the domestic power battery installations in June, CATL ranked first with a 49.60% share, BYD, LG New Energy, China Innovation Aviation ( AVIC Lithium Battery) and Guoxuan Hi-Tech ranked 2-5 with 18.53%, 6.19%, 6.01%, and 4.94% respectively. In addition, the 6th to 15th places are Sunwoda, Honeycomb Energy, Yiwei Lithium Energy, Funeng Technology, Ruipu Energy, Tafel, Dofluoroduo, Penghui Energy, Lishen, and Gateway Power.
