The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers today announced a brief analysis of the sales of the top ten automobile manufacturers from January to July 2022. Among them, SAIC ranked first with sales of more than 2.5 million vehicles, far ahead of one another.
In terms of detailed data, from January to July 2022, the top ten car companies by sales are SAIC, China FAW, Dongfeng, GAC, Changan, BYD, BAIC, Geely, Great Wall and Chery. These ten car companies sold a total of 12.487 million vehicles from January to July this year, accounting for 86.3% of the total car sales.
Compared with the same period of the previous year, BYD, which ranked sixth, had the most obvious growth in sales, which more than doubled. Chery Automobile and Guangzhou Automobile Group showed rapid double-digit growth, SAIC Group and Geely Holding registered a slight increase, and other companies all showed a decline.
With the development of electric vehicles, the sales of electric vehicles occupy a larger and larger market share. According to the global new car sales ranking for the first half of 2022 released by research firm MarkLines in August, BYD, which focuses on pure electric vehicles, increased its sales to 640,000 units in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 160%, ranking 14th in new car sales.
